Barbies and Bratz and the Law of Attraction

By karen | February 23, 2007

My daughters are pretty well versed on “The Law of Attraction”. They have watched “The Secret” many, many times as that movie shows at our house on a regular basis.

Well my 7-year-old daughter wanted a “Bratz” doll. I don’t particularly appreciate the “Bratz” dolls. I guess I prefer the more wholesomeness of American Girl dolls and the tradition of “can do” attitude of Barbie. Barbie has the Law of Attraction down! Barbie can be, do or have anything in the world! But the “Bratz” dolls have an image that reminds me of many the young starlets in Hollywood, sure they can look cute on the outside but the look has lost the substance of intelligence, dignity and respect. In my Mommy eyes the Bratz dolls do not have the image of a successful and intelligent female.

So my daughter wanted a Bratz doll and I did not want to get her one. She argued and cajoled and went on and on like kids will do. So my husband proceeded to tell her about how “The Law of Attraction” could bring it to her and it didn’t necessarily have to come from her parents. So she gave up the begging and we all forgot about it for a while.

A couple of weeks later right before Christmas our family went over to a neighbor’s house to offer Christmas wishes. The family has an 8-year-old daughter and my daughter and their daughter were playing downstairs. After a little while my daughter excitedly comes up the stairs with a plastic book bag filled with dolls. She exuberantly exclaims, “Bailey said I could have these, Can I, Mom, Can I?” So I peered into the bag and what do you know, it had 2 or 3 of the very Bratz dolls that she had previously wished for. I was in such amazement! Of course all I could say was “yes”. She put her desire out to the Universe and it was manifested!

So our children can teach us many things about the Law of Attraction and how the Universe works. They don’t offer as much resistance as adults do to believing and having faith and when you don’t resist you attract your hearts desires!

“The Secret” is a wonderful movie but it never really was a secret. The Law of attraction has been talked about since the dawn of time. I included qoutes from both Jesus and Buddha in the Live the Power presentation. I hope you enjoyed the movie. Thanks for coming by!

    Two things…

    1. If I had to sum the entire thing up, it’s that the Law of Attraction
is all about alignment. You’ve got to do the “work” if you want to
    bring something info your life.

This is where I think people mess up, which gives the entire thing the
“MLM/Amway” kind of vibe. You can’t just sit around eating junk food
and watching reruns and expect to live on the beach…regardless of what
    the infomercials say.

People like Joe Vitale are out working. Bob Proctor is out working.
    James Ray is out working.

    2. I found a FREE book (yes, FREE) that helped me figure out all of
this. http://www.receivethebook.com/ has it and it’s well worth the read.

And like I said, it’s FREE. So you can’t argue that the guy is trying
to take advantage of people looking for a “magic pill” or whatever else
I’ve been hearing over the last 2-3 weeks since this thing hit Oprah.

    Great info.

I watched the Secret DVD a few months ago and got another book on Law of Attraction,
but it didn’t really start happening for me until I wrote down my intentions. I found that to be
    VERY powerful.

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0975436171/ is a book I just got, which makes
planning out your Law of Attraction goals easy. Just fill in the blanks and you’ve got a road
map to follow. Has been working well so far.

Wow, these books by David Hooper are popping up everywhere in my consciousness. Maybe that’s a sign I should check them out!
Thanks for coming by and thanks for the heads up!

Oh, no… My son just said he wants a snake. I wonder if he’d be happy with a toy.
