Enjoy Every Sandwich
By karen | March 4, 2007
I just read a most inspiring story from the front page of MSN “Why I quit my 6-figure job”.
Somebody named Steve Belanger wrote it. I’m hoping that his name becomes a familiar one to everyone. At 38 years old he quit his 6-figure job that he was not happy with to become an Actor.
An Actor.
How wonderful that he is following his dream, that he let go of the illusion of security to do what he really wanted to do. You have to admire that. At least I admire that.
His accountant said he had a 98% pay cut. His wife said, “You’re talented and I believe in You, Go for it”.
And he says he’s happy now. He’s gotten a few roles. He’s going on auditions. He’s on his way.
I, for one, am cheering him on!
Oh, I almost forgot. One of the people he said was responsible for him taking the leap was Warren Zevon, a successful musician in the 70’s who was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer in 2002. Shortly before Warren died he appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman. He openly expressed his prognosis and David Letterman asked if he had any parting words.
He did.
“Enjoy Every Sandwich”.
Very wise advice, indeed!

I am so grateful that most of us has the ability to take a sandwich for granted. It is awesome when we realize that they are really great and magnificant gifts.

What does your “Shill” wsbsite have to do with the genius of Warren Zevon.

Well Steve…
It has nothing to do with Warren Zevon, nor did it ever claim to have anything to do with him.
He just said something profound…and it made its way here….
As for “shilling” well damn, I wish whoever I was doing that for would start paying up!
