Peace with What Is
By karen | March 15, 2007
As with the polarity of everything in life, learning about the Law of Attraction and Deliberate Creation can be a double-edged sword. It can cut both ways.
Of course it is empowering to know that you are responsible and you create your own life but it can also be disempowering and discouraging to know that you are responsible and you create your own life, especially if you have a tendency for self-criticism or low self-esteem.
If you are responsible for everything in your life then of course you are responsible for everything that is going wrong also. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to find peace of mind and acceptance of “what is” and realize that it’s okay if others are farther along on their path. Your path has nothing to do with anyone else’s path. You can’t get it wrong because you never get it done. If you try and fail it is not the last chance because there is always another opportunity, another chance and another and another and another. Try again. You never get it done anyway because new desires will always be borne, new things will always excite you, new opportunities will always arrive.
An important key is to “Feel Good” on the journey. If you are thinking self-deprecating thoughts from seeing the lack of what you want, or comparing yourself with others who are on a different path, you are not feeling good. It doesn’t matter who you are, if you are thinking bad thoughts about yourself, it does not feel good. When you are in your connection to God, or Source Energy, or the Universe or whatever you want to call it, you feel good and you honor yourself for being the magnificent being that you are. When you start in on a self-criticism, self-loathing, destructive bent about yourself or even a critical and hateful rant against other people or situations, you lose your connection to the power that helps you create what you want. But don’t forget that you still have the power to create. You can’t stop the Law of Attraction from working. It’s just that you are not creating what you really want and the bad things that you don’t want show up in your life, again and again.
When you approach life with pure honesty, you know, you absolutely know that the truth is that it’s not the circumstances or the situations or the problem people or the terrible jobs or anything outside of you that actually causes the problems in your life. The problems are always caused by how and what you choose to think about the situation. The fact is you really do have a choice.
Byron Katie, an author and the founder of a program called “The Work”, brilliantly teaches about the futility of arguing and fighting against reality. Reality just is. It is only your own thinking that makes it good or bad.
Examine your own negative thoughts and release them (another day, another post).
Today try to make peace with “what is”.
When you can make peace with “what is” and feel good with where you are you then can happily and joyfully and yes, deliberately create the life that you want.
But it all starts with Feeling Good!

Comparing ourselves with others will always make us feel bad, we should all have role models but only see them as inspiration not as a destination. When we focus on ourselves and our own achievements and progress we feel good and stay motivated and in a positive vibration, this manifests in gratitude and this in turn activates the Law of Attraction.

Alan,
I like your thought about seeing our role models as an inspiration and not as a destination. We do well when we remember our own magnificence!
Thanks for stopping by!

We are each created as wonderful individuals. Some people may be farther in advanced in certain areas yet they are behind in others. It is all too easy to see that they have what we want. We sometimes miss the fact that we may have what they want.
