How Do You Want to Live?

By karen | March 17, 2007

How do you want to live?

I think that must be the real question.

I’m talking about the continual argument that I have been reading about since “The Secret” hit the mainstream. We’ve got the naysayers who don’t believe in the Law of Attraction and we’ve got the Believers. Both have their points of contention, both have their compelling arguments. But why discuss it? The Law of Attraction is a matter of Faith. Believe it or don’t believe it. You have the choice.

But this is something to think about. How do you want to live? If you believe that you can deliberately mold and create the life you want how much more excited and empowered are you going to feel about achieving, accomplishing and going after your dreams than if you believe that you can’t really affect anything and you are just the victim of life and circumstances?

Which thoughts will help you make the plans, take the actions and go for your dreams?

When people feel a sense of empowerment and control over their own lives and environments, they thrive. They create and produce magnificence on many levels. They contribute to the world. They are happy and empowered to accomplish, to achieve and to give back.

When people feel a loss of control over their own lives they flounder. A hallmark of depression is a sense of a loss of control over one’s life. If you feel like you are the victim of circumstances and that you have no control and that your life is just a matter of chance how much effort will you put out to achieve?

The Law of Attraction gives us back our power. It tells us we have the power to be, do and have whatever it is that we want. I don’t know about you but that makes me feel inspired, happy and excited to try new things, to accomplish and achieve. It makes me happy. I want to believe so I do.

But it is just a matter of Faith. I cannot prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt to someone who wants to argue about it.

But I know that I would prefer to live my life believing in the possibilities, the potential, the magnificence and the magic of life.

So again, rather than discussing the arguments I think it would be better to just make a decision.

I agree! The people who are giving it negative press probably can’t let go of their limited worldview enough to get it to work for them. So, despite all of the evidence to the contrary, they decide that it’s a farce.

I choose to live empowered and happy and in a position to do good for my family, my community and my world.

THAT is how *I* choose to live!

I think this post is very important. Beyond the question of Law of Attraction works or not, we should all have a definite purpose for our lives and strive to attain it. Choosing free will and making use of it makes us strong in every sense, thinking you don’t have a choice and accepting “what is” is a path to failure.

Thanks for this very important post Karen!

Thank You for this post. I agree completely.

For my part, I appreciate the criticism because it just demonstrates the Law of Attraction - people will believe what they want, and attract what they believe.

It’s easy for the critics to find “follows”, just as it is far easier to blame everyone and everything else for the state of our lives - and for the state of our World. One builds the other.

I also believe that the Power is at the point of Choice - the Power is in Free Will. We can choose to set ourselves free from guilt, blame, and all sorts of other lower vibrational thoughts - and we can choose to move higher for the pure Joy of it.

Thank You Thank You Thank You

Yes, the point of power is at the point of Choice. We have the free will to choose the life we desire.
