Imagine

Imagine this.
Project yourself into the future. You’re in your rocking chair reminiscing. Think back on the life you led, the joys the sorrows, the good times, the less than good times, the accomplishments and achievements, the people that meant so much, the jobs, the careers, the choices you made.
Are you happy? Are you content? Did you do what you dreamed of doing? Did you accomplish what you wanted to accomplish? Did you follow your purpose? Did you follow your passions?
Did you live your life according to your own dreams and aspirations?
Did you go with the status quo?
How did you live your life?
Is it what you thought it would be? Is it better? Worse?
Okay, back to present times.
Now. Today.
What are you doing today to live the life that you want?
Do you hold on to the familiar? Or do you grab hold of the dream? Do you make the choice that is more risk, more of an unknown or do you go with the easy, the comfortable, the secure?
Do you put yourself out there and risk failure, rejection, and more or do you do the prudent (some would even say ‘more responsible’) thing? Do you play it safe and conform to the easy road or do you move to the higher ground that is not as stable?
People make choices about life everyday. The safe choice may be the right answer for some, the wrong answer for others. It depends on the person. Think about that rocking chair, at the end of your life will you look back with regrets?
Sometimes we may need to let go of who we are (or perhaps more precisely who we were) in order to become who we are capable of becoming.
How do you want your life to be?
In your soul you know the right answer for you. You know if you can live with your choice or if you will regret not taking the chance.
You know.

Sometimes, most of us know want how we want our lives to be. However, only a few are willing to make the changes needed to get want we want from life.
Thought provoking post.

We have to dare make the changes necessary if we are going to have the life we want.
Thanks for stopping by Sham and for your thoughtful comment!

Stephen Covey says “begin with the end in mind”, this is an excellent way to do just that.
