Quick, what do all of these musicians have in common?

Christina Aguilara
Kenny Chesney
John Mayer
Vivaldi
Aerosmith
Nickelback
Beethoven
Faith Hill
Melissa Etheridge

Except for the fact that they all create (or in the case of Vivaldi and Beethoven did create) music, what is it that they all have in common?

The fact is that the only real thing they have in common is that they all create amazing and awesome music and I am a fan of every one of them. The music they create is different and unique to each of them. And I feel as if I love all of their music equally. My mood at the moment may dictate what I prefer at that moment but my appreciation for all of them remains consistent.

The talent of one never diminishes the talent of another.

Over the weekend I spent about an hour and a half re-reading an amazing book “The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles. This book was written back in 1910 but the precepts it teaches are timeless. If you haven’t read it I would recommend that you do. You can pick up a free copy at www.scienceofgettingrich.net.

When I read this book before I really got the message that Mr. Wattles wanted to get across about the “thinking stuff” and the doing of things in “the certain way”. But this weekend what really struck me was when Mr. Wattles wrote about passing from the competitive mind to the creative mind.

When you are using your creative mind to create your life and your abundance, your possibilities are endless and infinite. There is nothing to stop you from doing, being or having anything that you want. There is more than enough of everything for me and for you and for that person from over there and for the other person from somewhere else. The world is limitless and infinite.

But when you get into a competitive mode the limitless nature of the Universe changes. Competition can be a fun and exciting thing in certain instances, for example, only one team can win the NBA finals, but competition does not serve us as well as we are creating our lives. When there is only one possibility, one winner, one loser, the infinite is gone. We start comparing ourselves with others, we feel inferior or we feel superior and either way we are not in tune with our highest selves. We are not doing our best work. We are not contributing to the highest good of all. There is no infinite. It works for many things (like the NBA final and the Superbowl) but not so well for creating the life of our dreams.

You have no competition. There is only one you and when you are working from your own creative mind your possibilities are infinite, boundless and immeasurable.

You can create your life in any way that your heart desires.

    Karen,

I’ve read The Science of Getting Rich 3 times and it keeps getting better every time I read it! :)

You are right on the money about there being more than enough for everyone. Whenever we start “locking ourselves in lack” as I call it, that is when we start to manifest the very lack of abundance that we fear.

Great post - thanks for sharing!
