The Revolving Door
By karen | May 14, 2007
Do you remember being a kid and going to the Fair? You stood in line to purchase the tickets and you waited in line to get in. As you looked out ahead you could see the Ferris wheel and the rest of the rides, the cotton candy machines and all of the fun just waiting for you behind the fence and through the turnstile. You got up to the turnstile and you clicked your way through and the fun began. You had arrived.
Think about a revolving door to a building. It goes round and round and you step out just in time to make it into the building and go on your way. I know when I was a kid I thought it would be fun to just stay in there and go round and round but of course the grownups wouldn’t let me.
But when you go through the revolving door now you step out just in time to reach your destination. You step out and go on into the building to take care of your business. You don’t go in and out and in and out and in and out.
Now imagine this. Imagine that everything that your heart desires is just waiting for you through a revolving glass door. You can see it through the glass, you can see the perfect relationship, the rewarding career, the abundance of money, the success, the perfect health, the fit body, actually anything that you can imagine wanting you can see through the glass of this revolving door. You just have to step out of the door in time, walk a few steps and it is yours. Everything that you desire is being held in escrow just beyond that revolving door.
trying to give you greater good.
That you deeply desire something is positive proof
that it has already been prepared for you,
and is only waiting for you to recognize and accept it.”
Catherine Ponder
Everything you ever wanted is there, waiting for you, you just have to step through the revolving door.
So how do you step through the door? Well if we live in a vibrational Universe and like attracts like you need to become a vibrational match to what you want.
So most of us start imagining and dreaming and thinking about what we want. We are happy and joyful and ready to accept all of the great things that life has to offer. We believe that we can have what it is that we ask for. We are ready to take that step through the door.
But all too often we get tripped up going through the door. We step through the door and our dreams are just a little ways ahead of us. We’re on our way but we stop seeing the possibilities. Our thoughts change to the disempowering thoughts like “well, why did I think I could have that anyway”, “This never works for me”, or “I don’t really deserve it”. And the effect is just like if we went back out the revolving door. We are again on the other side of our dreams.
So of course we can change our thoughts and our beliefs and go through the door again. You always get another chance to go through the door but for many of us, the self-sabotage clicks in again and we’re stuck in that ever revolving door. Going around and around and never taking the step out of the door. No closer to our dreams and sometimes farther away from our dreams.
The Law of Attraction is impersonal. It does not consider that when you say something like “well I don’t deserve it anyway”, that you really did not mean that you didn’t want it. It just brings you a vibrational match to whatever it is that you are vibrating. You can’t say “sorry, I didn’t mean that, just kidding”. The Law of Attraction will just match your vibrations. Period. It doesn’t take into consideration that maybe that is not really what you want. The Law of Attraction is impersonal.
Also, contrary to many things that I have read recently about the Law of Attraction, you cannot “invoke” the Law of Attraction. You can’t turn it on and off like a light switch. It works all the time, every time. You can’t turn off the Law of Gravity and you can’t turn off the Law of Attraction.
You will attract what you vibrate. The best you can do is to deliberately use it to your advantage. And that means to stop the self-sabotaging thoughts, step through the revolving door and keep going. That means that if you can’t see the goal, you keep the good thoughts on Faith. That means that if you can’t see the way, you trust the Universe to provide the way and you stop fussing. That means that it is not your job to figure out how, it is just your job to get into vibrational alignment so you are ready to step through the revolving door and staying in vibrational alignment so you can step out of the door and into the life that you want at the right time. That means being happy and enjoying this amazing life that really can give you everything that you want.
You just have to step out of the door.

Well - I can’t get my breath. This is really good. I’ve read athousand books including Catherine Ponder etc but I do believe you’ve hit on some original thought. And that’s really rare (in my experience). I love it. The strange thing is I didn’t remember subscribing to your site - I’ve just found the zip file of the free book - still unzipped. Obviously I wasn’t ready or something. Anyway - whatever you do wite the book and perhaps call it ‘The Revolving Door’ Bless - Chris, Leeds, UK

Thank you for this!It is really appreciated! I know what you say is true. I am a procrastinator, and have not continued reading such material on how to better my life. I have the tools. Self-application is another thing entirely. As long as you keep sending this vital information, I will read and apply. It’s never too late to start your day over.

I’ll try to be consistent in sending great material! You’re right it is never too late and you can’t get it wrong because you never get it done! Thanks for stopping by and for your thoughtful comment!

You do have an original way of telling stories, or writing articles, and it is refreshing. Once you spend a lot of time on the internet reading, it can become all very ’same same’…
So thank you!

Thank you for expressing that! Your expression of appreciation means more than you could even know!
Thank you!

[...] If all this discussion of religion, spiritual awakening and ultimate reality is starting to make your head spin… step into Karen Lynch’s article The Revolving Door posted at LivethePower, and make your whole body spin! Karen uses the analogy of a revolving door to explore what’s really stopping you from claiming your ideal life. Karen eloquently tells us that the only thing stopping us is… US. [...]

You hit the nail on the head! How many times have we wasted such valuable time and energy on these revolving doors. Thanks for the clarification.

If I am to follow this Law of Attraction stuff completely then would it be fair to say that Christ attracted his crucifixion? If I become spiritually evolved will my consciousness also attract a crucifixion?
Is the Law of Attraction the only force in the Universe or are there others I should be aware of?
August 7th, 2007 at 2:23 pm
As a Christian, don’t you believe that Christ was fulfilling a higher purpose? A purpose so divine that it affected all of humanity? Wasn’t the crucifixion a part of that divine purpose?
Does your higher purpose include a crucifixion?
The Bible and Jesus himself allude to the Law of Attraction -
St. Mark 11:23–For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
11:24–Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
St. Matthew 17:20–If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
St. Mark 9:23–If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
St. Matthew 9:29–According to your faith be it unto you.
I believe that God works His miracles through us, through the creative force of the Universe which is our own minds. That’s how the Law of Attraction works. It’s all part of the Infinite.

I’m not offended by what you are saying. And I didn’t say that I was a Christian. My question is what did Christ personally attract? Are there other forces in the world besides the Law of Attraction.
There are other forces besides the Law of Gravity. Thank God for that otherwise the earth would fall into the Sun.
So what other forces are there in our lives besides the LOA? You mention the infinite. Good. If we are to evolve spiritually to a Christ Consciousness then wouldn’t we be less concerned with our personal goals?
Anyways all this is quite outside the scope of the article. My point about Christ (we could also use Gandhi, or Martin Luther King) is that what was done unto them did not seem to be a part of their vibration. So I am curious about that explanation.
August 7th, 2007 at 3:54 pm
But we are not aware of their vibration, since we judge it to be a bad thing, we automatically think that they couldn’t have attracted it. However, perhaps the judgment is the problem. What if things are not good or bad but it is just our judgments that make them so.
Perhaps it was part of a bigger plan than we know.
August 7th, 2007 at 6:46 pm
I wasn’t judging it as bad. I also didn’t automatically think anything. I’ve spent some time with the subject matter. I will put crucifixion into the category of physically painful.
Your words — “It just brings you a vibrational match to whatever it is that you are vibrating.”
My point by method of inquiry is that the above isn’t true. While the Law of Attraction may be working all the time it is also not the only force in the universe. If we are to discover the truth we will have to look deeper into understanding the world beyond one dimensional law.
We can not honestly create our reality until we understand these other forces. And to say that something is “part of a bigger plan than we know” is to limit the Self. I’m not buying that story either.
August 7th, 2007 at 7:01 pm
So Gary, tell us, tell us about these “other forces”
Are these forces powerful than the Law of Attraction?
One could surmise by your answer that you have the answers.
August 7th, 2007 at 8:03 pm
I’m a skeptic. I’m asking you. What is the bigger plan? Does it really fall into the category of “mystery” If it is a mystery then can a mystic perceive and understand it?
If the Law of Attraction, from what I interpret you are saying, is the source of all these things then help me understand. If the law of attraction doesn’t explain these things then what does?
August 7th, 2007 at 8:35 pm
You can ask, but I don’t feel that it is necessary for me to explain or to try to convince you of anything. I can easily allow you to be a skeptic without trying to change your mind. I am allowing and accepting of others conflicting beliefs. Diversity gives us the spice in life.
What I believe about Life, Love, Joy, the “Source” and the law of attraction works for me in my life.
I’m Happy and I’m Joyful. That is what truly matters to me, not getting into deep conversations with skeptics.
So I am now going to say that this game is not serving me nor adding any measure of goodness to my life (it’s also taking more time than I’m willing to give!) so I am saying “Game over!”
Glad you had fun!
