Why do You want to Have More Money?
By Mohammed | September 5, 2006I came across something very interesting.
I’m reading “Secrets of The Millionaire Mind” by T. Harv Eker. He says that in his seminar he asks the audience if they think the motivation they have to get more money is based on fear. Nobody raises their hands, no one believes that their motivation is based upon fear. Yet then he asks is their motivation is security and almost the entire audience raises their hands. The interesting twist here is that the motivation ”security” comes from insecurity which you guessed it-comes from fear. Wow, that’s a new way to look at it!
So making more money won’t dissolve the fear. It will only change it. It may go from ”not having enough” to “I’m going to lose it”. Money is not the problem. Fear is the problem.
So, is it time to let go of needing the money for security and being motivated to earn more money by contributing, living in joy, fulfilling our purpose?
Something else to think about. Do you have any comments?

I have never considered the idea of desire for money coming from fear. You are right, it is a new way of looking at it. Thank you for the food for thought.
