Thanksgiving Gratitude Journal

By Mohammed | November 2, 2006

In the U.S. we celebrate Thanksgiving every year on one of  the last Thursdays in November.  This year it falls on November 23.

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays.  Not for the food, even though I love the food, but rather because of what Thanksgiving represents, Giving Thanks to God and the Universe for the bountiful harvest, for all of the wonderful things you have in your life.  Giving Thanks for the Joy of Living.  Giving Thanks. Being Grateful. Thanksgiving embodies it all.

So I am carrying on the Thanksgiving spirit every day throughout November.  Every day I will consciously spend time being grateful and considering and reveling in the things I am grateful for.

I think I will start a new Gratitude Journal.  If you are not familiar with a Gratitude Journal it is a wonderful way to focus on the abundance in your life.  Every day you write down 5 things or 3 things (or how ever many things feel good) that you are grateful for. When you write it down you can’t help but spend time feeling the good feelings of your gratitude.

And like the old hymn, when you “count your blessings” you realize how much you really have been blessed!

A while back I posted an article I wrote about Gratitude.  You can read it here. http://www.livethepower.com/blog/page/14/
