Action In Joy
By Mohammed | May 7, 2007Okay, by show of hands, how many of you were taught as children (and even into adulthood) that you have to “work hard” for everything that you get?
I see most of your hands are raised. (Not really, it’s just my imagination!)
Now again by show of hands, how many of you believe that?
Again, I see most of your hands raised. (Isn’t it amazing how that imagination thing works?)
Yes, most of us were taught in some form or another that “Life is Hard”, “there is no such thing as a free lunch” and “ You have to work hard for what you want in life”. We were also bamboozled with such wonderful advice as “Nice girls/guys finish last” and we must “keep our nose to the grindstone”.
And then along comes some knowledge of “the Law of Attraction” and the question arises again and again-“If my thoughts create my life, what about the action part?” and the continuous argument seems to be “it’s not just your thoughts, you have to take action, you have to work hard”.
So what about the action?
Well, we live in a physical environment and action is just that—physical. Most of us need to take some actions to achieve our goals. But think about it. Most of us would PREFER to take action to achieve our goals! I’m a big proponent of daydreaming and visualization but no one can live on daydreams alone, it’s more fun to take some action! It’s more fun to do something than to just sit around and dream about it! Laying around on the beach daydreaming would be fun for about half a day and then I know I would want to go play in the water, wouldn’t you?
The thing about the thoughts creating your life is that your thoughts help you get into alignment with your goals. When you are in alignment with your goals, the inspirations for the “right actions” to take will come to you. That is when your life flows. That is when your dreams come true. That is when you are deliberately using this wonderful Law of Attraction to create your life. When you are in alignment and you know the “inspired action” to take, it is not like hard work, or drudgery, it is fun and wonderful and exciting and thrilling.
It is a Joy– Action in Joy! It is effortless. Not effortless as in no action but effortless as is easy, fun and exciting!
Have you ever worked on a project and you lost sense of time and place? Have you ever worked on a project and enjoyed the “work” so much that you were almost disappointed when the project was completed? It happens to me every time I finish a knitting project. I love the finished project yet I feel a wistful melancholy that the “work” is over. I enjoy the action as much as the finished project.
And that is probably the answer to the action argument—enjoying the actions as much as achievements. Get your thoughts and vibrations into alignment and the “inspired actions” will come to you. It won’t feel like “hard work”. It will feel fun, exciting, exhilarating and joyful. You will enjoy the “Action”.
When you get to that point, you will know that you are deliberately creating the Life of your Dreams.

it is such a relief and a great way to be when you enjoy what you are doing. however, there will be times when you need to do something that will not be enjoyable. you still need to do it but perhaps the more joy that is in your life the easier it is to do the less joyful things.

I have found that when I am writing and doing what I love the other stuff doesn’t really bother me. I’m happy just getting it done with no complaints! So I think you are right it is easier!

I love the way you frame inspired action as being work you enjoy so much, you loose all track of time.
