The Center of the Universe

Okay, I know that there will be some people who will take issue with that statement. When someone says “you think you are the center of the Universe” they often mean it in a negative and mean-spirited way.

But the truth is, You are the Center of your Universe. You can only see the world through your own eyes and your own perceptions and your own viewpoint. No matter how empathetic you are to someone else’s plight or even their glory, you are not experiencing it, you really don’t know how they feel, so the best you can do is to just be empathetic.

You are the center of your Universe and that is how it should be. Other people are the center of their own Universe. We can give to and love other people and it is a wonderful thing. It makes our lives richer , fuller and more joyous. But we can only “Experience” life through our own lens.

You can’t feel bad enough to solve any of the problems of the world.

You being poor does not help other impoverished people in this world.

You not using your own God-given talents and opportunities only hurts you! (the world will never know!)

You cannot voice your complaints loud enough to stop everyone else from doing something you don’t like.

You denying yourself Joy and Happiness does not take it from others, it only hurts you!

You hating another or denying forgiveness to another is like drinking a tall glass of poison yourself and hoping that the other person dies. It doesn’t work that way.

If you carry the pain and sorrow of the world on your shoulders, you are just going to have a miserable life. You can’t make anyone else’s life or the world better by carrying around misery!

You can make a difference in the world but not by “fighting against” things. Instead of being “against” the things you don’t want, try being “for” the things you do want. It is a subtle but extremely powerful distinction!

If you want to make your Universe the best place it can be, you can only start with and change yourself.

Find the Joy, find the happiness, give yourself what you want, allow yourself to become, to grow, to love, to experience and to revel in this joyous journey called Life. Look for the good, Seek out the best. Your best Universe is calling to you.

After all your Universe revolves around You!
