The Best Advice Ever….or Raindrops on Roses

By Mohammed | December 6, 2007

I spent the morning trying to make a simple appointment. But it was not simple. First I called and I had to listen to a myriad of voicemail messages directing me here and there, and then when I was finally able to speak with a real person, I was told that they did not receive the referral. I had a fax confirmation report in my hand but even so, they claimed not to have it and therefore they would not help me.

So what does this have to do with anything? Nothing. It is not what happens, it is how we react to what happens.

As I look down at my desk I see a headline that reads “Stay Calm, even as you’re losing it” on the front of the December issue of a Yoga magazine. Apparently we all have some issues with frustrations and stress

The fact is that no matter what is happening in your life when you can stay calm, everything is better. With all of the focus on the Law of Attraction and Deliberate Creation, what seems to often get lost in the translation is that the most important thing is to “Feel Good”.

Feel Good and you are empowered to have the life you dreamed of.

Feel Good and you can dream and visualize and create and achieve.

Feel Good and you can give the Best of Yourself to others
(this is very important advice for parents!).

There is a song from my childhood, I’m sure that you’ve heard it as it is a famous song from a famous movie. When I was a little girl I loved this song and if I was sad it offered up the best advice.

“When I’m feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel so bad.”

And the favorite things of course were “Raindrops on Roses and Whiskers on Kittens….”

If it takes remembering your favorite things, doing rampages of appreciation, or just stepping back and taking some time to do whatever you need to do to replenish yourself, honor your life enough to do whatever you need to do to Feel Good.

Because in the scheme of everything, Feeling Good is the most important thing.

A Mantra for Everyday

“Today, no matter what I am doing, no matter where I am going,
no matter who I am with, it is my dominant intention to feel good
The most important thing is that I Feel Good.”

Heya Karen – agreed – feeling good is tops and the most important! For some people it does take a lot of work, though.

    Cheers,

And sometimes it is more work than at other times but there is not another discipline in the world that will offer so much benefit! Don’t you agree?

Thank you, Albert, for stopping by.

    Truly a great article.

I have a little mantra that I repeat when I start to get upset due to circumstances and the people behind them. I say to myself in a little song/verse, “I like people and people like me”.

Just keep repeating it and it becomes a trigger to make you smile and move on to the next bump in the road.

    Hi Karen,
Boy I really needed that little bit of info after the way that work went this last week, especially when mixed with trying to get ready for Christmas. It is all coming so fast. We all need to stop and think about our favorite things and then everything seems better for a while, or at least long enough to take a much needed breath. that song is also one of my favorites.

    Thanks,
    Audrey

Just take that deep breath and remember that the most important thing is to “Feel Good”
Your kids will not remember the “stuff” so much as the good times you have as a family and when you feel good you can give the best of yourself to your kids, and believe it or not, that is the best gift of all!
