Hold the Vision-Dare to Dream
By Mohammed | February 11, 2008It’s true. I can actually get to anyplace in the world from where I am right now. Yes, sitting right here at my computer I can plan a travel itinerary that will take me anyplace in the world. Any place, anywhere. I will have to make some plans and take some actions, I will likely need to use the services of others, perhaps a travel agency or a bicycle shop, depending on my destination but I can get there from here.
And that is my “aha” moment for the day. Doesn’t really seem too “aha” at all, does it?
And it’s really not, not at all when you think of it this way but it really is when you think of it another way.
You see, I redid my vision board this past week. It coincided with the Chinese New Year and the Solar Eclipse that happened on February 7. Neither of those things occurred to me at the time but since then I have received emails informing me that the year of the Rat is a “Promise of Prosperity” and the solar eclipse signals a major shift in consciousness that will bring an energy of new beginnings for all of us, such as new doors opening and paths being made clear.
Okay, that sounds great. I’ll take that as confirmation from the Universe. The Path will be clear and the way will be Prosperous! That is exactly what I want!
I had planned on redoing my vision board for awhile. It had been in the back of my mind but the timing just became right. Since this is my vision I only answer to myself. The time was finally right.
The vision board felt good and it felt empowering as I put it together but the next day as I looked at one very important goal that truly is very close to my heart, a sense of panic set in. All of a sudden I thought “I can’t get there from here, I don’t have this, I don’t have that, I’m not this, I’m not that, what am I thinking?”
Whoa, that is not the direction I wanted to take. That is way off track! I think in possibilities! I know that people create wonderful things from nothing all the time. I’ve done it myself. I know that often things happen in such a way that it would have been impossible to predict. It’s happened to me many times.
But isn’t that all too human? We set out for the great unknown and the doubt and fear sets in. If it has never happened to you, you’re lucky. If it has happened to you, you’re in good company, I know that I am not the only one who has ever had a big goal and no clue whatsoever on how to reach it.
So I forgave myself. And I thought about it. And slowly, I eased out of the panic and back into the feelings of empowerment.
Other people have accomplished what I want to do. Not all of those people had talent or credentials. And surely they also started somewhere. They weren’t born into it. They had to follow a path just like everyone else. They found a way. I can find a way too.
So it’s there on my vision board. It brings me good feelings to just look at it. I can imagine and dream and follow the inspired actions that come to me. Since at this time I have no clue what exactly to do, I will just do the only thing I know how to do at this time.
Hold the Vision. Because I know that I can get there from here.
You can too! Dare to dream!

I did my vision board at close to the same time, finishing it after much contemplation on February 8.
I plan to try it out for 30 days, see if there is any noticable difference, and report it in my blog.
If there is noticable progress, I’ll keep it going for another thirty days.
Then another.
Then…well, you get the idea!
And I haven’t a clue how to get to those things on my vision either. But maybe that’s part of the fun, the adventure, of discovering later and while on the trail, how you get there in the first place!

Hey Jeniffer,
you’re right! It is part of the fun and the adventure….but on the journey we need to keep our eye on the goals and not the doubts!!
thanks for stopping by! I would love to hear of your successes with your vision board. It can be a very powerful process!

Karen:
Wow, you said it. Yes, I would have to say I’m in good company, as you put it. I have gotten off track – many times. I also have a vision board.
It’s human nature to feel fear or apprehension. That’s where I sometimes get lost but I’ve learned that’s a perfect time to make the conscious attempt to get re-aligned with the universe and get back on track.
It’s like what happened when I was offered a major speaking engagement that I thought was out of my league because of the type of audience that I was going to speak to. They were “rough and tumble,” blue collar kind of guys – mostly men who fight fierce battles with the weather on the fields, deal with angry customers, etc. My topic? Resolving conflicts.
I was really apprehensive about taking on that assignment because I was concerned I’d not be able to reach them. This is where FEAR almost heled me back. I got a sign from the universe in the form of a paragraph in a book and went through with it.
I’m glad I did. But it goes to show that fear can throw us off but if we consciously reconnect with the source of all that is, we can get back on track.
Nice job Karen! We can find a way.

Turn Around Tuesday
Sure, it’s Wednesday. And Turn Around did happen on Tuesday for the email subscribers. Server issues and email catch up made the web issue a bit delayed…but, without further ado…
