Hi Karen....

I am always thrilled when someone asks me - "Are you Out of Your Mind?!" -- It is then that I know I am following my heart not my conditioned brain!!

Thanks!

Follow your heart.....
Listen to your heart and soul....
Stop over thinking and over analyzing in your mind and brain and listen to the intuitions and promptings from your heart and soul.....

Craig that is so true. Watching my 15 month old delight in the most benign of things is a blessing.

His current favorite toys include a picnic cooler and pots and pans.

He loves to go outside... even when it's 50 degrees and I'm freezing, he still wants to go out. The crazy part is, he doesn't get cold even if he's out barefoot. I've checked his temperature multiple times, looked for shivering or any signs of cold... and he just goes outside and squeals with joy.

He can't talk and he doesn't need to yet, which makes it all the more enjoyable to communicate with him and encourage him to do the things he enjoys... even if they are "stupid." :)

I love your comment Craig!

I have 3 of those types of kids right now, 3 beautiful princesses.....and none of them ever schedule in fun...they just do it!!

Not to say that there aren't a few complaints!
My middle daughter informed me yesterday that if I wouldn't let her go outside and play then she wouldn't love me anymore!!
Since it was getting dark and cold I told her that it didn't matter because I still loved her no matter what. She got over it and I still got hugs and kisses before bed!

Today is supposed to be 71 degrees so this afternoon after daughter #1 is out of school it is to the park we go!!
Have fun!!

We can learn a lot for our kids!

Kids are better than us when it comes to dreaming.
Why is it that so many of us highly evolved, highly intelligent and incredibly complex 'grown-ups' seem to lose some really valuable skills as we age... having fun for instance.

"Mmm, sorry my schedule's pretty tight this week, I could possibly fit in some fun at say, 12.30 next Tuesday..... but I've only got ten minutes."
"Any good?"
"If you're really desperate, I could squeeze in some mild amusement early Monday for say, eight minutes, I just had a cancellation - get back to me."

Kids love to laugh and dream and they do plenty of it.
And they laugh at stupid stuff.
A lot.
Don't they know it's stupid?

It's a good thing us older, wiser types are around to let them know when and how to have fun.

If kids want to have fun, they'll always make it happen.
They can be in the most boring, mundane environment or situation and they'll find a way to have fun.
If only us boring, serious old farts could do the same, we may achieve more of our dreams.

That reminds me of a technique from EFT where you look down to the right, look down to the left, roll your eyes and sing a short song and then say the ABC's---it really is amazing how well it works to refocus!

Joel,

Along the lines of what you said, I recently learned an amazingly simple way to step away from the mind and immerse in presence.

Basically, it starts with the time-tested method of focusing intently on your breathing. However, while doing that begin rolling your eyes in one direction. After a few minutes of this, roll your eyes in the other direction.

The mind has trouble focusing on both the breath and the rolling eyes, and the end result is the mind gives up and presence pervades.

Simple, quick, yet effective.

Hi Suzanne,
Can you see why it's my favorite!! ;)

Don't overthink....that can be a trap.
Just do it...we rarely regret the things we try and fail at, (or what we try and succeed at!)
But we often regret the things we don't try at all!
