What is the Mind?

By Mohammed | May 4, 2009

In the early part of the 20th Century, there was an important experiment that was carried out.

The purpose of this experiment was to understand where the mind actually is located in our bodies.

Several mice were used during the experiment and they ran through a maze many times, until they were conditioned to know the correct way.

After they had learnt how to run through the maze, their brains were physically removed and the mice were let free to run the maze again.

Amazingly, the mice still knew the correct route through the maze.

It was at this time that science started to prove what metaphysics had been suggesting for thousands of years. The mind is not confined to one place in our bodies, it is literally in every cell.

As Osho once said, “The Mind is the innermost body and the body is the outermost mind.”

In the last 25 years, our understanding of the mind in a scientific sense has improved dramatically.

Experts predict that 75% of what we know about the mind, on a scientific level, has been discovered in this period.

We are now in a position to take on greater questions. If every experience that we personally experience is in every cell of our bodies, is it possible that what Einstein argued is true, that the universe is in every cell of our body. The knowledge, the emotions, the experience and the potential of everything, past, present and future could lie within the very cells that make us.

    Dear Readers :)
Hope you are all celebrating your life there. It is indeed a nice subject to discuss on. But I strongly disagree with the statement that 75% of the knowledge about mind is discovered in 20th century. Vedic Philosophy from Ancient India explained the very same ideas thousands of years back. I suggest the author to read the Upanishads (the pjilosophical part of Vedas) to understand how advanced they are in Psychology and metaphysics. All the rituals of ‘Sanathana Dharma’ is based on this information.
    Keep celebrating life everybody
    Have a great time
May you all be with peace happiness and joy
    Sreehari
