The Power Of 30 Days

By Mohammed | November 11, 2010
In literally every self-help program, we are told to try something for at least 30 days. Have you ever wondered why this is? The real scientific reason will amaze you.

Nasa scientists did an experiment with a group of astronauts in which the astronauts wore concave goggles continuously for a period of time. Concave goggles literally flip every image upside down and the Nasa scientists wanted to see how they handled being disorientated.
After roughly 30 days, something amazing happened. Whilst the astronauts were wearing these concave glasses, theirbrains had literally rewired themselves to flip the images back up the right way!
As a result of this, the scientists concluded that after 30 days, the brain literally rewires its neuron connections to accommodate any new habit, action or circumstance.
Have you ever tried something with great enthusiasm for a few days and then faded back into old routines? If so, it is because you have not practiced it for 30 days in a row.
During the New Year, we all make resolutions that we struggle to keep. Give yourself a head start and practicing your resolution now, so that by the time the New Year comes, you would have been practicing it for more than 30 days in a row and your brain would be rewired to ensuring it stays a permanent habit!
