Manifesting Life

By karen | May 28, 2007

You know I have created some amazing things in my life, some of the things that I really, really wanted. I had 3 babies over age 35; two of them were born after I was over age 40. I have a great marriage and relationship. I am blessed to be married to the best friend I ever had and that came about after a miserable first marriage and 7 years of being a single mom. And there is more, much, much more.

I really am happy and grateful for so many things.

But it seems that many of the wonderful things that came into my life came only after I had surrendered and decided to be happy no matter what, even if I never got the things that I wanted. Shortly before I met my husband I had come to the conclusion that it would be okay if I never found anyone and I never remarried. I knew I would be okay and happy on my own and then very shortly (I think it was just a few weeks) after that conclusion I met my future husband.

With the babies, I listened to the prevailing wisdom and the media and of course all of that said I was too old, so I accepted that and I figured I would just be happy no matter what and shortly after that I got pregnant with beautiful daughter number 1. The other two beautiful daughters came 4 and 5 years after that. There is a big story about the pregnancy for daughter number 3 but that is for another day (maybe).

The point I’m getting to is that the manifestations always seemed to occur after I had essentially given up, after I had decided to be happy no matter what and after I surrendered to life. And while I was absolutely grateful that what I really wanted did come true I didn’t quite understand how it worked. I knew that I absolutely mentally “let go” of the “how” and the “when” and even the “if” and then the manifestations came and they effortlessly flowed. I thought maybe I was just blessed. I really was blessed.

But as I learn more and I listen more and I comprehend more about the Law of Attraction it is becoming clearer. The happy, blissed out, joyful state allows the manifestations to come faster. When you stop with the incessant arguing, fixing, controlling, wishing, wondering and all of that in your own mind and your own thoughts you essentially get out of the way and allow it to happen.

You are here to find joy and to be happy and to rediscover who you really are. But the things that you want are out there waiting for you and when you stay in that happy place and you let go of trying to “make it happen” or “manipulating things to make it happen”, or “forcing it to happen”, or thinking it can only happen “your way, one way, this way”, you allow the manifestations to occur. There are so many ways to say it but really the process is of truly, honestly and absolutely letting go mentally. I grew up with “Let go and Let God”. The Bible talks of “Faith as a grain of mustard seed” and “Faith moving mountains” and I think that perhaps I am getting a glimpse of what that really means. And even though I understand better now than I ever have I know that it is not always easy advice to follow.

But it really is the answer.

“According to your Faith, Be it unto you.”
St. Matthew 9:29

What a wonderful reminder (especially for those like me who are control freaks)! One of my biggest lessons is learning how to let go of “how” and not trying to be in control of “when”.

Great post! I’ve high vibed you and pinged you for the Raise Your Vibes game!

It can be difficult to relax and just let things take place. Still, it is worth the effort.
