Rampages
By karen | June 1, 2007
Yesterday I wrote in the highvibes game post about the “Rampage of Appreciation”. As I thought about it I realized that I have never written about it here. So I am going to remedy that now.
I have had the “rampage” process on my mind for a week or so as I have been using this process more and more because of the fun of it, the good feelings of it and the empowerment of it. I got myself in a little “funk” last week by letting such disempowering thoughts as self-doubt and fear creep in. My faith wavered a bit (okay, I admit it-a lot!). I came out of it (slowly) but as I did I wanted to increase the better feelings that I was having. I wanted to feel Good, really good!
If you want to parlay some good feelings into some incredible, happy and joyful feelings a “Rampage of Appreciation” is a good place to start. The point of it is to find things that you appreciate. Find the good things and focus upon the good things that you like about things in your life.
I know I always write that there is good and bad in everything. It’s true. So look for the good. A “Rampage of Appreciation” works because you are consciously directing your own thoughts. When you consciously direct your own thoughts you tap into your own power. This isn’t a game for anyone else; this is something you do just for yourself.
A really fun and effective way to do a “rampage” is when you focus on just regular things in your life, the mundane, everyday and ordinary things. That is what I meant when I asked, “what do you love about your coffee cup?” See a coffee cup is so ordinary that most the time you don’t give it a second thought. But if you start thinking about what you appreciate about it you can really get into a happy mood.
”This coffee cup is such a pretty color”.
“I love how the handle of this cup is so sturdy”
“I enjoy drinking coffee in the mornings as this cup warms my hands”
“It is such a pleasure to drink coffee out of this cup”
And moving on with your day…
“The hot water in this shower feels so good on my skin”
“Wow, this soap smells wonderful”
“Soft, warm towels, yum”
“These clothes are so nice, it feels great to wear such nice clothes”
“I love these shoes, they are so comfortable”
And out the door…
“A garage door opener is so nice, I love it that I don’t have to open it by myself”
“I’m so happy that my car is so dependable”
“A full tank of gas, I am so lucky!”
“I’m making great time this morning”
“Pretty colors on that billboard”
“The stoplights in this town are so great because they keep traffic moving so smoothly”
And with other people…
“I’m so lucky to have a friend like that”
“Isn’t that a beautiful sweater she is wearing?”
“My husband is such a handsome man”
“My kids are so smart, I love knowing them”
And situations…
“It’s nice to have a short minute to read the trashy tabloids as I am waiting in line”
“Wow, this person is really trying to do her job well, I appreciate that”
“I’m so happy that I was able to get the appointment scheduled for that day”
And you get the picture. Focus on the good things, no matter how small.
The point of a “Rampage of Appreciation” is to “see” the good things and be consciously appreciative.
Try it. I promise you will start feeling good, really good.
And isn’t that a wonderful way to live your life?

Hi Karen, this is a great way to turn around things. I have finally accepted that its all about feeling good, that if you can just feel good always, everything you want will be yours. This article tells us how we can start to be happy NOW. My blog has been really quiet, but hell I am focusing on feeling happy, and thinking about writing was making me feel anxious. May your life be a match to Joy dear!

It really is about “feeling good”. Your focus on feeling happy is serving you more than anything that makes you feel anxious! The Universe always knows the best way! Let it happen!

[…] One of my favorite rituals is doing a “Rampage of Appreciation“. I wrote about it before. You just take the time to look for and appreciate the positive things in almost everything that you see, no matter how small, in fact sometimes the smaller it is the more fun it is because it really gets you into a happy and joyful place. Like right now, I am loving my warm lavender bathrobe (yes, I’m still in my jammies! It is just 6:30 am!) and my Flintstone coffee cup (that is the one that looks like it should belong to Wilma but it doesn’t, it belongs to me! I love it!) […]
