Instant Gratification and Deliberate Creation
By karen | June 11, 2007
We live in a world of instant gratification. The world has evolved into a place where I can communicate in seconds to someone halfway across the world, I can zap my food and make it hot in a matter of seconds and I can almost instantly find any kind of information that I want at my fingertips with a touch of a mouse. It really is amazing.
But thankfully, nature itself has not caught up. Nature does not do instant.
My neighbor has a beautiful dwarf apple tree in her yard. It is unique, as it has been trained, much like a bonsai, to only grow sideways on a trellis. It is really beautiful. About a month or so ago it was covered with beautiful pink blossoms. Now it has millions of tiny apples, hard and green. If I were to take one of those apples today and bite into it, my teeth would probably hurt from the hardness, and my taste buds would squirm at the sourness. Today the apples are not ready. Nature takes time and time has not yet passed. If I wait until September, the apples will be big, red, juicy and delicious, perfect in terms of apples, as I would have given them the time they needed to ripen.
Yesterday as I was traveling the Internet, I read a posting of a woman who was going to discourage her daughter from learning about the Law of Attraction because in her words, “I have tried it and it didn’t work for me”.
Well to clear up a misunderstanding, the Law of Attraction works whether you try to use it deliberately or not. If you don’t try to use it deliberately to attract what you want, you still attract what you think about and what you focus on, you just attract by default.
If you want to learn to deliberately use the Law of Attraction to create your life, like nature it takes time. It is highly unlikely that you can watch, read or learn about the Law of Attraction and Deliberate Creation just one time and have it down to the extent that you can deliberately create the life you want, every time, no question. In fact, since we are all human it is unlikely that any of us will ever get to the point that we never create something in our lives that is not what we want. Life is a learning process. Life is a journey.
The good news is that you can’t get it wrong. You can’t get it wrong because you never get it done. Your life is a process, a wonderful process of fits and starts, hits and misses, dreams come true and dreams crushed. You live. You learn.
And so it is with Deliberate Creation and the Law of Attraction, you learn to direct your thoughts consciously as you go. There is no instant gratification when you have the process down completely. Like all of life and all of nature, it is a process, a journey.
And perhaps it is the adventure and the journey rather than the outcome and the destination that is the point to life after all.

Karen,
This is so true. Even being someone who is constantly writing about and talking about being positive and deliberately creating my life, I still need to be reminded at times that in this moment - yes THIS moment - I am creating something.
Whenever things manifest in my life that I do not want, I have to accept responsibility for the fact that I attracted those things to me by - over the course of time - focusing upon them.
It’s one of the reasons why I write about personal development and self improvement. It keeps me “in the bubble” of feeling the way I need to feel in order to manifest the things that I want!

Yes, it is a process, a wonderful magical process and we are creating in every moment!

Instant Gratification and Deliberate Creation
Karen writes about how we are used to instant gratification in our lives and how we can get discouraged when we don’t “get” how the law of attraction works right off the bat. It takes practice to guide our thoughts but, after you have that part pra…

[…] Esther says that Rhonda and her team have, once again, suppressed knowledge from the people instead of liberating them with the power of the Law of Attraction. This is because they have ‘left the non-physical part out.’ The non-physical part of ‘The Secret‘ is, of course, Abraham so Esther is saying that without Abraham people are ‘without guidance’ as to how to ‘deliberately create.’ […]
