A Favorite Book

By karen | June 27, 2007

I’ve never done a book review here. Can’t really say why as I read many, many books. But I will have to say that it is different when you have kids. For some reason they take up all of your time. I wouldn’t change it for anything but I don’t read as much now as I did before the kids came along. But I still read. It’s kind of like breathing! Can’t stop.

Today one of my favorite books of all times jumped off the shelf and into my book bag at the library. It is such a great book that I thought I would share it here.

This is probably just about the very best, most read and most beloved self-help, inspirational, and motivational book ever written. It pretty much covers all of the bases of living a successful and happy life. Not only that I would bet that most of you have read it! You may or may not remember it but it is worth looking up again just because it is such a great book! It starts out with….

Congratulations!
Today is your Day.
You’re off to Great Places!
You’re off and away!

And it follows up with such wisdom as….

You can steer yourself
Any direction you choose.

And…

Wherever you fly, you’ll be best of the best
Wherever you go, you will top all the rest.

But this book isn’t just about when things are going great. It also gives some great advice for when…

Bang-ups and
Hang-ups
Can happen to you.

And as we all learn throughout life…

And when you’re in a Slump,
You’re not in for much fun.
Un-slumping yourself
Is not easily done.

And it warns against….
A most useless place.
The waiting place…
For people just waiting…

And fears….

There are some, down the road between hither and yon,
That can scare you so much you won’t want to go on.

But all things can be overcome and there is assurance that you will….

Face up to your problems
Whatever they are.

And always remember to….

Step with care and great tact
And remember that Life’s
A Great Balancing Act.

And at the end the promise is made…

And will you succeed?
Yes! You will, indeed!
(98 and ¾ percent guaranteed)

So always remember..

You’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So….get on your way!

If you haven’t read it lately (because I bet you have read it at sometime or another in your life!) this book is definitely a great book to read again,
And again,
And again!

Presenting one of my favorite motivational, inspirational book from all time…

Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”
By
Dr. Seuss

Enjoy!

    That was fun!

You know I don’t think I’ve ever read that book. Sounds like it’s a good one to have on hand. You’ve inspired me to pick up a copy.
