Interlude of Gratitude
By karen | November 21, 2007
On October 23, my friend Nneka from Balanced Life Center sent me a wonderful invitation to join in on the Season of Gratitude. From October 23 to November 21, it was the time to practice Gratitude and Count blessings until the day of Thanksgiving. Apparently the Season of Gratitude was started in 2006 but of course last year at this time I was a “Secret Blogger“. That means I was blogging, just that nobody knew about it yet.
Well, it sounded wonderful to me. But on October 23, my family was still deeply entrenched in season of ghosts and goblins, witches and warlocks. I had to go trick-or-treating first.
Even so, I was at a point where I really needed some of that Gratitude therapy so near the first of November I really started focusing and writing here about Gratitude. I think I have actually written more about Gratitude in these past few weeks than I did for the entire year before. And it has been wonderful, fun and amazing.
I’m back to being me. Where I’m happy to be.
You see, I had been caught up in the “how” something in my life would unfold. I felt confused and a bit unhappy (which really is not like me but….sometimes…). I was wondering and worrying about “how” this would happen, and “how” I would accomplish that and I was off my game.
Now, I still don’t know “how” but I’m focused on the good things and I’m grateful and happy for everything I have.
The “how” will come. I know. I have Faith.
So I want to send out a special “Thanks” to Nneka for offering me such a wonderful assignment.
Thank you, Nneka, for this Interlude of Gratitude. I feel happy, joyful and ready for the holidays.
And I’m thinking that there may be times during the year when it would be nice to have another Interlude of Gratitude. So there may be weeks of Gratitude posts again. You never know.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Karen, Gratitude, for me, is like Love, or
my girlfriend, always there. There is no interlude.
Gratitude is my constant remembrance of Gods Love.

Those “hows” can be tough to get away from… but they do keep revealing themselves as long as we stay focused on the “whats”.
Thank you, Karen… I’m grateful for you.

I’m grateful for you too Lyman!
You have become a great friend! It’s funny how “online” has changed our world so much that we can feel such a friendship with someone who we probably wouldn’t recognize if we saw them at the mall!!
It’s a wonderful thing though! Spirits connect!

Like you two, Karen and Lyman, I have been blessed this year with so many new internet friends that I will probably never meet. It doesn’t make the friendship any less important. It just shows us that the world is full of wonderful people waiting for us to discover. Have a glorious day.
