A Full Set of Instructions

Santa Claus came to my house a few weeks ago. He brought my 2 year old daughter a beautiful baby doll with blond hair and big blue eyes that blink. This baby doll also came with a “full set of instructions” that told us how we could insert batteries and the doll would then respond to the name that we gave her. Well, after eavesdropping on a conversation between me and her grown-up cousin about a doll that actually “poops” , my beautiful and smart 2 year old promptly christened her new baby doll “Baby Poop”. Her sisters heard that name and of course, it caught on big time. Now the beautiful baby doll has batteries and she responds to her given name of “Baby Poop”.
You know, I gave birth to 4 different babies. At the hospitals where they were born, they were all wrapped in wonderful packages, one blue, three pink and yet I never, not even once did I ever receive a “full set of instructions” on how to teach my little babies to live.
No written instructions torn from the “Book of Life” were ever provided.
And that is oftentimes how we think. We wonder where the instructions are. Where are all of the answers to all of the challenges that we face? How do we know what to do or how to do it? Why isn’t there just a big fat manual to answer all of our specific questions? Maybe we should just conduct a “Google” search (and believe me, based upon the blog stats that I try to avoid but don’t…. people do “Google” searches on the strangest things!).
But the fact is that we do have a “full set of instructions”. We all have an incredible and amazing guidance system that will truly give us all of the answers to the pressing questions in our lives, if we just learn how to listen. If we just learn how to interpret. We can tap into our own wisdom and the answers will be given.
The answers are always there. And when we learn to really tap into that wisdom and follow it, it never leads us astray.
The intuitions may come as a feeling, a voice, a shift in energy, perhaps a dream, a flash of inspiration or a nudge but when we learn to listen and heed our intuitions, our lives are much smoother.
If you’re really deep down honest and you look back at serious mistakes from your life, be it a bad relationship, a disappointing job, or something else, if you look back with an open heart and mind you can see that the intuition was there.
It is possible that you didn’t know how to read it at the time, and looking back we can always see so much more clearly (“hindsight is 20/20“) but the intuition is always there.
It is just us who are unaware. It is us who choose to override our own guidance.
Much of the trouble that we cause ourselves could be avoided if we just listened to our own souls and our own intuitions.
You have the guidance, the directions, and all of the instructions. You just have to learn how to interpret them yourself.

Yes, yes, all the answers are inside. By stopping, taking a deep breath and giving ourself a moment to feel our intuition, we can make wiser choses to act on.
Regular deep meditation is a way to deepen our intuition…it also turns us into a magnet, attracting all good to us.

You have done well. Since I am baby number 1 I have a greater perspective of the subject than most. I think that the other three will agree with me when they grow up.
