Valentines Day and Growing Old

By karen | February 14, 2008

It’s Valentines Day 2008. My Valentine and I are celebrating a sweet anniversary. Yes, oh so romantic, our first date was Valentines Day 1992. And we’re not even the romantic type. Today we’re just hoping to celebrate by getting the kids to go to bed early. And then…

But romantic or not, we are blessed. I’m still crazy in Love and he is too.
We do have something to celebrate everyday.

We want to grow old together. Can’t think of anything better than that!

When I get older losing my hair,
Many years from now.
Will you still be sending me a VALENTINE
Birthday greetings bottle of wine.

Doing the garden, digging the weeds,
Who could ask for more.
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I’m ….ninety-four.

Yes, I did take a small artistic license there. Since Paul McCartney himself is now 64 it just doesn’t seem too old to me. 94 sounds so much better now.

I wanna make you smile whenever you”re sad
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
All I wanna do is grow old with you
