My Internet Business

It occurred to me recently that I haven’t had a “job” since 1988. That is 20 years. Yes, it was 20 years ago that I let go of that false sense of security (well, it was false for me anyway) and became self-employed. That is not to say that I jumped from the security of a job into any kind of ease of self-employment. Self-employment is not necessarily easy. But I did have the freedom that I longed for.
I create my life. I create my destiny.
Even though I was self-employed, I still spent about 12 to 15 years (12 hardcore, 3 easing out of it) doing something that I really wasn’t happy with. I felt like I was stuck. At the time I felt like I made too much money to quit….but not enough money to be happy. Now of course, there were times when I had the fantasy that I would wake up one morning in the future and I would have it all figured out and I would love what I was doing and I would be making tons of money and still have everything that I wanted. Somehow the fantasy never included the conflict between what I really wanted in life and the “money”. What I really wanted for my life was incongruent with the work I was doing. And even though I tried not to admit it, deep down I knew that no matter how much money I made if I kept doing what I was doing I would never have the life I wanted. I was on the wrong path and being happy with my work and even being happy with my life would continue to elude me. But I was still afraid to let go. It may be a cliché’ but it is true, Money can’t buy happiness. Happiness comes from inside and from living an authentic life.
The turn-around for me came when I allowed myself to have something that I wanted more than anything else on earth, in spite of being afraid, in spite of not knowing how I was going to handle it, in spite of the world telling me that my time for that had already passed me by. I did not want to live my life without that experience. Even if it was a long shot. I would do whatever I had to do. And part of what I had to do was to accept where I was. So it came down to a mental surrender.
With surrender came new opportunities. Things I could have never imagined. I no longer felt like I was trying to swim up the waterfall and after years of wistful searching I finally started to feel like I was in the flow of life.
That chaotic interval of time ended around the year 2000, the year my first daughter was born.
Shortly after that in 2001, our lives turned around even more.
In 2001, Kevin and I started making our living by working on the Internet. Within just a short time we were making much more than I was making with my other work. Kevin was loving it. I was loving it. We were both happy, happy. And more baby girls came to our lives. I got what I wanted and more, in fact, in triplicate. And I am happy now, very happy.
It’s been a great ride. Not always smooth, (yes, we’ve been slapped around and beaten up by Google and more) but we have the freedom that we want.
We create our lives. We create our Destiny.

Hey Karen,
This opportunity sounds great. I am wondering though if you could tell me a bit about what is different about this compared to many of the other “Internet Business” programs out there. I’ve been burned a bit in the past but a high recommendation from you peaks my interest.
