2 Years and Halfway to 100

She looked up at me as she sported that mischievous grin.

“Mom, you’re almost halfway to 100!”

And then she giggled. And then she laughed. And laughed. And laughed.

She was laughing so hard that I had to laugh myself.

“Thank you, honey! That has never occurred to me before! Thank you for pointing that out! Just keep in mind that it is still “almost” and I’m not quite there yet.”

“Yeah, but pretty soon! Halfway to 100! Halfway to 100!”

and the singsong continued for most of the day on Sunday the 7th, my 47th birthday.

Yes, it is true! The amazing, astonishing, and astounding fact is that I am now “almost halfway to 100”. Won’t be long and I’ll hit that wonderful milestone!

Sunday was an joy-filled, amazing and awesome day!

(yes, I think I’ll use A’s for adjectives today! ;) )

And that is not the only milestone around here. September 5, 2008 was the 2nd anniversary of the very first blog post here at Live the Power. Yes, 2 years and 415 posts, through all the ups and downs and ebbs and flows of building a blog, I’m still here.

Still posting…..sometimes occasionally…..sometimes frequently!

In two years of blogging, there have been things that I have passionately loved….
That would be the writing, of course!
And then there have been the other things….
No further comment there!

And the question of the day is……

Do you blog so you can write?
Or
Do you write so you can blog?

Either way, since by now I should have a modicum of wisdom
(I mean after all, I am “almost halfway to 100!)….

Life is supposed to be good!

Life is supposed to be fun!

We are here to experience Joy!

So my best advice is to focus upon the things that you Love!

And I will focus upon the things that I love!

    Happy (belated) Birthday, Karen! Almost halfway to 100… that’s such a cool way to look at it.

    And I think your wisdom is right on - life *is* joy. Everything else is just details.

    Thank you for adding to my joy over the past couple of years (wow, it’s really been that long, huh?).
