And The Excitement Builds!

Yesterday we stopped by the courthouse to cast our votes early. We were planning on waiting until the big day on November 4 but decided that it might be a good idea to avoid the lines and vote early. Believe me, we have listened and learned and studied the issues more than we ever have in our lives!
Yes, this has been the most exciting election season that I have ever experienced. And I do believe that it is the most important election of our times. Even though watching the news is not something we like to participate in often, watching election coverage has become a fun pastime. It’s rather amazing how the different cable channels slant the different news coming out of the campaigns. Just yesterday one of the major cable channels completely ignored a major election news story and chose instead to focus upon fashion or rather the “criticism of the cost” of that fashion. Yes, we’ve been watching them all. And any of our preconceived notions of an unbiased media have been completely shattered. It’s very obvious that people gravitate towards what they believe to be the “truth” and that actual “truth” is a just something we all create in our own reality.
But I digress. I was telling about how we stopped at the courthouse to vote early. We had an hour between dropping off daughter #2 and picking up daughter #1, plenty of time right? No! We stepped into the courthouse and found a huge line. When we asked about the wait, it was 45 minutes.
45 minutes!! For early voting!!
How exciting is that?
Think of the participation levels! Think how important this democratic process is to people this year!
Wow!
Well, we didn’t risk it yesterday. Picking up daughter #1 on time is a priority. So Monday afternoon we’ll go back.
And we will cast our vote in the most important election so far in our lifetime.
I am excited!
