Random Acts of Kindness…
By karen | November 29, 2006
Recently I have heard stories of people who just randomly go up to people during the holidays and give them $100 bills and then disappear without even waiting for acknowledgement. One story was about a man who apparently did this for years and nobody knew who he was and now his identity has been revealed. The other story was about a “Copycat” giver that happened in my own town and the lady who received the unexpected gift was on the radio expressing her gratitude and thanks and surprise that anyone would do this.
What a wonderful example of a Random Act of Kindness! I love these stories and I would love to “copycat” them also. How much fun could that be? Wouldn’t it be wonderful to give to someone that could really use and benefit from it! I mean just ordinary people who could use a little help.
There are many ways to practice a Random Act of Kindness, little things like saying “Thank you” and giving sincere compliments, to letting someone go ahead of you in a line, to giving of your time and your resources, to just really thinking about the other person and what would make them happy. And the really great thing is if you practice Random Acts of Kindness, you will feel really good, too!
Kindness in words creates confidence, kindness in thinking creates profoundness, kindness in feeling creates love.
