Action
By karen | December 15, 2006
The admonition “You must take Action, You must take massive Action in order to be successful” has been with me for most of my life. Of course, I was always brought up to believe that action was always required, that we must all work hard for everything we get and that every victory was the result of much hard work and discipline.
Yet there were times in my life when I was burning the candle at both ends, working and working and not having any success and not having any fun either! I can laugh now at the saying “work your fingers to the bone and what do you get….Bony Fingers!” But when I was working and working and working, taking one step forward and two steps back, and when I would hear the old Bob Segar song “Running against the Wind” and the tears would tumble out of my eyes and my heart because I literally felt like I was running against the wind, I never laughed. It wasn’t funny. I was not in the flow of life.
You don’t put your canoe in the water and face it upstream and paddle and paddle and paddle and ever get anywhere. When you are struggling with work, love, life you also don’t get anywhere. Life was never meant to be a struggle. It defies the laws of the Universe. Grass doesn’t struggle to grow. The Sun doesn’t struggle to light the world. The rain, the wind and the snow all work together in perfect harmony to provide us with the water we need. Why do people struggle?
Taking action after action after action just for the virtue of taking action is often futile.
The Universe responds to our energy. An inspired, empowered and passionate 80% effort is infinitely more effective than a panicked, scared and frantic 110% effort. It just is. Taking the time to align your energies with what you want to accomplish will work wonders towards your achievement. Taking the time to assess your values and learn about yourself, your likes and dislikes, what is truly important to you will also work wonders towards your achievement. Letting go of the struggle will absolutely work wonders towards your achievements.
Everyone can work, live and play in the flow of life. The Flow of Life is our birthright. We are all children of an infinite and abundant Universe. Align your energies, let go of the struggle and start enjoying your life. Today.

The memories these types of stories bring up are almost laughable now. But, I can remember when I didn’t think they were so funny. Sometimes lessons hurt while you are in them yet, bring humor to your life later.
