Lessons in Visualizations
By karen | December 20, 2006
My fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Wall is likely turning over in her grave as I write this post. But that’s okay. I am still of the opinion that someone that disagreeable should not be allowed around 10 year old kids. So prepare yourself, Mrs. Wall, because here I go.
Daydreaming is one of the best ways you can spend your time. Yes, you read that correctly. Daydreaming is good for you!
We were always taught in school to focus on the task at hand and not to daydream, not to dawdle. But visualizing and daydreaming about our goals and aspirations can help us create the life of our dreams. If you go there in the mind you will go there in the body. We create in our minds and it manifests in our real life. Daydreaming is spending time in creation mode. Nothing wrong with that!
I’ve learned some things about visualization that are very important. Even though visualizing your goals, your dreams and your outcomes can help you reach them and achieve them, if you visualize just for that purpose you lessen the effectiveness of the visualization.
I know that sounds like double-talk. So I am going to try to clear it up. If you are visualizing just to reach your goal and only for that purpose your vibration is not just on your goal but also on the fact that you haven’t yet reached your goal. Your thoughts and also your point of attraction are not purely on your dream. That is what makes it less effective.
The most effective visualizations are the times when you are visualizing and daydreaming just for the pleasure and the joy of visualizing, the joy of creating and dreaming and molding your goals and dreams. That is when you release your resistance and focus clearly, your joy is clarified and the manifestations happen. That is when your dreams start coming true.
I know this first hand. There was a time in my life when I wanted a baby so bad it was all I could think about. A baby girl is exactly what I wanted. But I was at a time in my life that I wasn’t sure it was possible. I was over 35. My career was the main source of income for my family and it was demanding to say the least. Having a baby did not seem feasible at all.
So I really had come to believe that it was not going to happen, I was not going to get a baby and I needed to let it go.
But I could not let it go. I started daydreaming and visualizing this baby girl. I can actually remember thinking that if I couldn’t have the real thing I could at least create it in my mind and I could enjoy it in just my imagination. I didn’t think I would really get my baby so my imagination had to take over.
Well, when I was 38 I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. When I was 42 I gave birth to another beautiful baby girl. And when I was 43, I surprisingly got pregnant again and again I gave birth to another beautiful baby girl. My dream not only came true, it came true 3 times over. My dream came true way beyond my wildest expectations.
I didn’t visualize just to make my dreams come true. I didn’t think they were even going to come true. I visualized and I daydreamed just for the Joy of visualizing and daydreaming.
I had no idea I would create exactly what I wanted in triplicate. But I did.
And I am Grateful beyond measure.

[…] Gratitude and Surrender turned everything around for me personally but it also helped to share that Gratitude and Surrender with my life partner. Soon after, some of our fondest dreams came true. Our family started to grow and as for the financial problems, well, my husband went from wishing he could just make $3000 a month on the Internet to over $500,000.00 in the next 18 months. We achieved some great success and our lives turned around completely. […]
